July 4th Burger

I went by the Comme Ca recipe on nytimes.com but the only thing worth paying atten­tion to is step 2.

Essen­tially you start your burger off on the stove top in cast iron and sear the out­side quickly, then finish it in the oven for a nearly per­fect medium rare burger.
